Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and as a fulfilled. girl it is my job to give you a couple suggestions whether you have a partner or not.
Let’s be honest, there is a lot of pressure when it comes to this holiday. People with partners are expected to go out and have a romantic dinner, even if the seasonal depression is weighing them down, while people who are single tend to feel left out. No matter what your situation is, I want you to remember that this day should be a reminder to treat yourself. Fall in love with who you are and be proud of yourself for existing in a world of chaos.
If you are finding yourself in need of a little date night/ day on the square I have compiled an approachable itinerary to get your plans started.
Reminder: Valentine’s Day is on a Saturday this year!
-
Sleep in! There’s no need to rush out the door, it’ll probably be cold out. This winter weather just won’t give us a break and before you leave for the day bundle up.
-
Head over to Wheelhouse Pottery & Coffee order yourself a latte, grab yourself a cozy spot, and enjoy the brand new space. Bring a small notebook just in case any creative ideas float your way.
-
Make your way over to fulfilled. and check out our new inventory. Hint: you’ll be going out for dinner and drinks tonight so you might stumble upon a dress, skirt, or purse that is looking for a new home. We also have a great selection of cute hair accessories and jewelry if your outfit just needs a little sparkle.
-
While you’re enjoying our beautiful space, make sure you try items on and learn about yourself and your personal style.
-
Once you feel satisfied, you’ll make your way over to the Records Department and sift through artists of the ages. You’ll find yourself needing to expand your physical media collection– and then you’ll make the tough choice and pick up a couple different vinyls. Be sure to stop and enjoy the Small Business Vending Machine while you’re there. Everything you see can fit in a purse.
-
You might find yourself ready for lunch! A couple doors down is one of my favorite sandwich shops– Cesaroni’s. Order a TBM and if you are with a partner make sure you order a 9” sandwich to split between the two of you. Don’t forget to order an extra pickle and bag of chips.
-
While you’re in the area you’ll notice the movie theater right across the street and find yourself looking at the different movie posters. Normally, you would just wait for the movie to be available on streaming, but because it’s a special occasion you let yourself enjoy a midday movie and popcorn.
-
The sun is starting to set when you leave the theater, and the chill touches your cheeks. Instead of going home, you make your way over to Winestock and enjoy a beverage of your choice. I highly recommend asking the professionals for their expertise based on your preferences and order a flatbread or charcuterie board.
-
At this point you’re probably thinking you’ve done everything there is to do on the square, but you would be wrong. For one last drink and live music head downstairs to Emerson and Oliver. You’ll be met with the most romantic mood lighting, some form of entertainment, and a reception cocktail upon arrival.
I hope that this list sparks some form of inspiration and reminds you to go out and join the community. My favorite part about Woodstock are all of the amazing businesses that love what they do. Enjoy the day, no matter your relationship status.
With Love,
Kaitlyn, a fulfilled. girl.
