Midwest Spring: Dress Up & Dress Warm

Don’t Put Those Coats Away Just Yet…

Transitional seasons for fashion girlies are the best; change is upon us, the sun is shining, picnics are being planned, but one thing continues to stifle our creativity in the Chicago burbs—the ever changing weather.

Thinking about this collection was almost entirely inspired by the beautiful coats fulfilled. carries. The store is stocked with vintage London Fog trenches and unique statement blazers. Coats and blazers have the ability to change an outfit entirely, reminding us to fall back in love with our current wardrobe. One day the weather is 65 degrees and sunny, the next is gray and frigid.

Usually, when I style the looks for our photo shoots the process is pretty seamless, but this time I couldn’t help but second guess my inspiration. When I looked back at the final looks before the shoot everything felt so winter– so dull. Luckily, Mollie guided me back to dainty and adorable twee outfits, with large coats and sweaters on top for warmth from the abrasive wind.

Winter can feel like forever out here and sometimes we discourage ourselves from dressing cute. Don’t let your creativity be stifled; throw on your cute mini skirt, button up blouse, fleece lined tights, wool socks, and a cute coat and take yourself out. Grab yourself a coffee from your favorite Woodstock Square coffee shop and enjoy your clothes every season.

With Love,
